It is incredible to think that LACA have been running National School Meals Week for 25 years but that being the case, it was important that 2018’s activities were worthy of this celebratory milestone, writes NSMW organiser Nigel Argyle.

A resource pack has been created for allergen awareness month (January 2019) by Allergen Accreditation.

According to the accreditation, “public awareness of food safety and allergen failures has caused a huge swell of interest, that will ultimately result in some businesses losing business” and has therefore crated a resource pack.

Hospitality provider Sodexo has acquired school catering company, Alliance in Partnership (AiP), it was revealed this morning (11 December).

On Friday 7 December, Cheryl Allen was revealed at the North West England winner of the School Chef of the Year competition sponsored by McDougalls.
