Results of London SCOTY final unveiled

Michelle Creed from Romford was announced as the London regional final winner today (November 29) in the School Chef of the Year competition sponsored by McDougalls.

Employed by Havering Education Services, she is based at Broadford Primary School, Romford.

Her two winning dishes were a zesty Mexican chicken flatbread with sweet potati and mexican slaw, followed by a caramelised pineapple sponge with vanilla cream. 

The six London contestants who qualified to take part in the live Regional Final held on Thursday 29 November 2018 at Premier Foods, St Albans had to cook their dishes against the clock and under the scrutiny of a panel of Judges. 

They had 90 minutes to prepare four portions of a main course and a dessert suitable for serving to 11 year olds in school.

Second place went to Gilles Goiran who was employed by Alliance in Partnership and based at Ilford County High School. 

He served a moroccan inspired lamb empanada with a madeline, millefuille and berries trio. 

Creed will go on to take part in the national finals next year on March 7 in Stratford Upon Avon.
