Sodexo receives award for Five Foodie Days menu project

05 Feb 2020
Global services company Sodexo is celebrating winning the 'Public Sector' category at the Health & Vitality Honours 2020 for their Five Foodie Days menu aimed at primary school children.

The Health & Vitality Honours is a platform for business to showcase the best practice and helps to create better transparency on social issues including health and nutrition throughout the supply chain.

Sodexo’s Five Foodie Days menu for primary schools won the ‘Public Sector’ award. The Five Foodie Days was developed by Rosemary Molinari and it offers a fresh approach to school food focussing on pupils in key stage two to four.

The scheme was launched in October 2018 with each food day following a different theme, including planet food, street food, world food, originals and Friday favourites.

Sean Haley, regional chairman for Sodexo UK & Ireland, said: “What a great way to start 2020, these awards really demonstrate our commitment to ensuring our services have a positive impact on the communities we serve.

I am equally proud of our Government schools’ team who have worked hard to create an offer which truly inspires school children to adopt a healthy attitude to ensuring they have a balanced diet, they have done this with Five Foodie Days which is part of our Food & Co offer for schools.”
