Originally the programme was part of LACA’s National School Meals Week activity and became so popular with both school caterers and restaurateurs alike, that LACA recognised the opportunity to make it a stand-alone, year round event.

The list of venues that have participated over the last few years would grace any publication on fine dining, with some of the most famous restaurants in the country hosting school caterers. The Ritz Hotel London, Fortnum & Mason, Rick Stein’s Sandbanks Restaurant, the Chester Grosvenor, Alyn Williams at the Westbury in Mayfair, Purnell’s in Birmingham, L’Enclume in the Lake District and The Walnut Tree in Abergavenny and many more, are indicative of the quality of restaurants that are happy to Host a School Chef.
