LACA Host a School Chef is firmly established as one of the most popular events in the school catering calendar. The promotion offers school chefs the opportunity to spend a day in the kitchen of some of the most exclusive restaurants in the country, working alongside some of the most celebrated chefs in the catering industry, demonstrating the breadth and depth of talent of today’

​Originally the programme was part of LACA’s National School Meals Week activity and became so popular with both school caterers and restaurateurs alike, that LACA recognised the opportunity to make it a stand-alone, year round event.

​The list of venues that have participated over the last few years would grace any publication on fine dining, with some of the most famous restaurants in the country hosting school caterers. The Ritz Hotel London, Fortnum & Mason, Rick Stein’s Sandbanks Restaurant, the Chester Grosvenor, Alyn Williams at the Westbury in Mayfair, Purnell’s in Birmingham, L’Enclume in the Lake District and The Walnut Tree in Abergavenny and many more, are indicative of the quality of restaurants that are happy to Host a School Chef. Already new for this year we have the stunning Murano in Mayfair, Café Murano, Covent Garden, Café Murano St James – all part of the Angela Hartnett portfolio – Cyrus Todiwala’s legendary Café Spice Namasté, the fabulous Porsche Restaurant at Silverstone Race Track with many more exciting venues to be confirmed.

We want to hear from both school chefs and interesting hotels/restaurants and suitable ‘host’ venues. We will match School caterers with a restaurant in the same area for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
