In a seminar organised by Food Standards Scotland (FSS), Food & Drink Federation (FDF) Scotland, Which? and Cancer Research UK, key stakeholders and policy makers will discuss the key issues for tackling obesity in Scotland.

Taking place on 21 February 2018, the seminar will centre around the Scottish Government’s new Diet and Obesity Strategy and Physical Activity Delivery Plan, and the introduction of the Soft Drinks Industry Levy.

A group of pupils from Chapter House Preparatory School in York were crowned McDougalls Young Baking Team of the Year at this year’s LACA: The Main Event on 6 July.

The students won the prestigious accolade thanks to their ‘Queen Ethelburga’s Mess’ creation, a recipe which included fresh strawberries, garden mints and locally sourced eggs which met the local produce theme of the competition.

The Lead Association for Catering in Education (LACA) unveiled its 2017 Awards for Excellence winners on 6 July at a gala dinner during its Main Event conference and exhibition at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
