The enforced liquidation of UK multinational facilities management and construction services company Carillion has cast a shadow over catering services in schools and hospitals.

The McDougalls Young Baking Team of the Year competition, which sees pupils compete against each other in a bake off to win new kitchen equipment for their schools, will return to LACA- The Main Event in July.

The Government is proposing to change the rules around who is eligible for free school meals in the future, but campaign groups such as The Children’s Society and School Food Matters fear it could mean more than a million children in poverty miss out.
