Department for Education signs up to FSA Thunderclap campaign

08 Dec 2014

A campaign started by the Food Standards Agency with the Anaphylaxis Campaign and Allergy UK to raise awareness of the new EU allergen regulations is due to come to a thunderous conclusion on December 12th.

The FSA has now been joined by the Department for Education to raise awareness of the new regulations, which come into effect on December 13th. Supporters can sign up to the Thunderclap campaign online, which posts a message via users’ personal social media websites at the same time to get its mass message across. The message will be posted at 9am on December 12th.

New rules will change the way allergen information appears on labels and on food that is pre packed or sold loose. More information and resources on the new allergen information rules will be available on the FSA’s website from December 12th: www.food.gov.uk/14allergens.
