LACA reveals SCOTY regional final venues & dates

LACA has revealed where the School Chef of the Year (SCOTY) regional finals will take place throughout the next few months.
With the competition focus on producing nutritious, delicious meals for 11-year-old primary or secondary school pupils, the SCOTY competition is the perfect showcase for passionate school chefs to demonstrate what they do best every day.
Competitors must prepare, cook and present four portions of a main course and dessert with a total food cost of £1.70 per head in 90 minutes that meet the School Food Standards and Eat Well Guide.
Regional final winners will each receive a £100 cash prize and advance to the SCOTY final at the LACA Main Event. The regional final venues include:
- East of England (eight contestants), Tuesday 11th March (two heats): Brakes Kitchen in Reading
- London (four contestants), Wednesday 12th March (morning): Brakes Kitchen in Reading
- South East (four contestants), Wednesday 12th March (afternoon): Brakes Kitchen in Reading
- West Midlands (three contestants), Wednesday 9th April (morning): Rational kitchen in Cannock
- North West (one contestant), Wednesday 9th April (afternoon): Rational kitchen in Cannock
- Wales (two contestants), Wednesday 9th April (afternoon): Rational kitchen in Cannock
- East Midlands (three contestants), Thursday 10th April (morning): Rational kitchen in Cannock
- Yorkshire & Humberside (four contestants), Thursday 1st May (morning): Barnsley College
- North East & Scotland (five contestants), Thursday 1st May (afternoon): Barnsley College
- South West (five contestants), Thursday 8th May (afternoon): Weston College
