School caterers Alliance in Partnership win Gold Standard for second year running

The event, which took place last week, saw over 200 delegates from 120 leading UK caterers gather together to attend.

The awards recognised the serving of ethical and environmentally sustainable food, and the assembled caterers' commitment to providing freshly-prepared meals to schools, nurseries, hospitals, care homes, universities and workplaces around the country.

The caterers won the award once again for its 26 contracts in the London Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea region.

The Gold Catering Mark requires 50% of the menu to be local produce, 30% to be of organic origin or Marine Stewardship Council approved, 75% freshly prepared daily and free from genetically modified ingredients.

Amy Teichman, AiP quality and nutrition manager, said: “Things have come on in leaps and bounds with the Kensington and Chelsea schools. We’ve introduced new dishes over the past 12 months, all staying within the Food Standards for nutrition. We serve seasonal produce, all locally sourced and we’re confident that we can continue to improve and develop the menus within the schools.”
