Adopt a School Trust marks 35th anniversary of providing food education

The donation will enable the Adopt A School Trust to continue to provide food education to schoolchildren across the UK.
Founded by The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA) as an independent charity and supported by both the culinary industry and RACA members, the Adopt a School programme aims to inspire children’s enthusiasm for food, cooking, provenance and the hospitality industry as a whole.
The programme is delivered through hands-on, interactive sessions led by professional chefs, who share their passion and expertise to support the delivery of the cooking and nutrition curriculum.
Gemma Hopwood, programme manager at The Adopt a School Trust, commented: “This funding allows us to continue providing children with essential cookery skills and knowledge to make informed dietary choices, while also introducing them to the vibrant world of hospitality.
“We are proud to partner with The Savoy Educational Trust to make a meaningful difference, building the foundation for healthier, sustainable lifestyles and sparking a passion for food and the hospitality industry.”
The Adopt a School chef team work in diverse settings, including hospitals, Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools, youth clubs and on farms through Chef on the Farm visits. They also support secondary school students with masterclasses and mentoring for industry competitions such as FutureChef.
