APPG launches Excellence in School Food Awards

The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) has announced their Excellence in School Food Awards 2021/22 are now open for entries.
Aimed at recognising excellence in innovation and individual commitment, the awards will provide an opportunity for those working within school food a chance to ‘step forward and shine’.
Submissions close at 3pm on Wednesday 8 December 2021 and must follow the submission template and be accompanied by a letter from an MP. When complete (within the 500 word limit) all forms must be emailed to vhacking@apse.org.uk.
The three categories for this year's awards are:
- Groups: An organisation, charity or catering team who have used the initiative to serve healthy food to children; an organisation, charity or catering team who have been able to work together to achieve positive outcomes on local communities and children.
- Individuals: An individual who has shown individual commitment; someone whose ideas and innovation have changed things for the better; someone who has had a significant impact on local communities and children.
- Schools: Either an in-house catering team, head teacher, teacher(s) or support staff – who have come up with a creative initiative to serve healthy food to children within the school setting.
