BAM facilities management volunteers prepare hampers for vulnerable people
Services supplier BAM FM colleagues and volunteers recently gave up their time to put together 1,000 food hampers for vulnerable and homeless people in Somerset.
The project was commissioned by Somerset County Council in conjunction with four District Councils, which the BAM FM team manages on their behalf.
It was a true collaborative effort that utilised BAM FM’s catering, caretaking and cleaning teams on the Public Finance Initiative (PFI) schools contract, while a number of engineers assisted with the distribution of the hampers to the four District Council Offices.
The team even had members of the public volunteering and two teachers who assisted with the food distribution.
In addition, BAM FM also delivered around 2,000 food hampers and meals to students entitled to free school meals during the school holiday period, a scheme funded by the Government.
BAM FM Operations Manager Neil Porter said: “A huge thank you once again to everyone involved, with most giving up their own time to help support the team and community.”
