Bidvest Foodservice supports Red Tractor Week
Thousands of Bidvest Foodservice customers can back British famers and show their support for Red Tractor Week on 14-20 September by purchasing dairy goods from the provider’s own brand accredited range.
As part of Bidvest Foodservice’s commitment to increasing its number of local and British product choices, all goods across Bidvest Foodservice’s own brand block cheese, grated cheese, cheese portions and block butter are now Red Tractor accredited.
Red Tractor is the largest food assurance scheme in the UK and ensures that food is traceable, safe to eat and responsibly sourced. The Red Tractor logo confirms that goods have been farmed, processed and packed in the UK, and meet strict standards that cover traceability, food safety, animal welfare and environmental protection.
Customers can view these products on the company website, clearly labelled with the Red Tractor logo so they are easy to find. As the logo is recognised by consumers too, customers can also easily reference Red Tractor on their menus.
Chris Smith, buyer at Bidvest Foodservice said: “Food provenance and traceability is increasingly important to consumers today and Red Tractor Week is a fantastic opportunity to heighten awareness of the food assurance scheme, drive support for British farmers and boost interest in great British produce on menus.
“By offering our customers a comprehensive range of British, Red Tractor accredited own brand dairy products, we aim to make it easier for them to promote traceable and fully assured items on their menus and tap into this demand.
“We are committed to being a responsible supplier and now offer more than 203 products that carry the Red Tractor logo across a variety of categories. The range can also help customers meet quality benchmarks, such as the Food For Life Catering Mark available to schools that provide food excellence.”
