British Lion Eggs launches competition and new website for schools
A new schools section has been added to the British Lion eggs website, which has been designed to provide teachers with fun and engaging teaching resources, and interesting facts and information about eggs for 5-11 year olds.
The website provides cookery and nutrition based educational tools for teachers to further increase pupils’ cooking skills and awareness of healthy eating. British Lion eggs has also launched ‘The Eggs Factor’ cookery competition asking pupils to design an egg-based meal to celebrate a loved one or special occasion in order to increase the numbers of children participating in cooking.
Andrew Joret, Chairman of the British Egg Industry Council, said: “Eggs are an ideal way to get young children cooking because there are so many quick and simple ways to turn them into a healthy and tasty meal. We can’t wait to see what kind of dishes the children come up with for the competition.”
