Childhood Obesity Summit to take place next month

Dr Sarah Wollaston and Dr Alison Tedstone are among the headline speakers of a new Childhood Obesity Summit, due to take place in London next month.

The inaugural summit will take place at The Royal Society, London on Thursday 3rd November and attendees are expected from across hospitality, catering and schools markets, as well as government, public health and local authorities.

Professor Dame Sally Davies, chief medical officer, will open the summit, with Dr Sarah Wollaston, MP and chair of Health Select Committee; Dr Alison Tedstone, director of diet and obesity for Public Health England; and Malcom Clark, children’s food campaign for Sustain, also confirmed to speak.

The summit is expected to discuss the challenges and obstacles of implementation and to question what further action is possible and what gains achievable within the framework of the current plan.
