Doncaster school chefs take awards home

Two Cooks in Charge took home accolades at the Doncaster Free Press Community awards last week.

The awards, held at the KeepMoat stadium, went to Mandi Phillips and Rachel Bradley who were both nominated in the Healthy Eating Initiative Category.

Mandi Phillips, Cook in Charge at Bentley High Street Primary won the award for her work with the children in school, attending assemblies to talk about food, judging cooking competitions in school, and for her entry into the School Chef of the Year 2016 competition.

Rachel Bradley (right), Cook in Charge at Pennine View School (special school) was Highly Commended for her work with the children in school and her carved animals made from fruit that decorate her bowl of fruit salad everyday.
