British manufacturer E & R Moffat has won the Welsh Region LACA Supplier of the Year Award 2013.

Moffat has developed a portfolio of catering equipment specifically for schools, including regeneration ovens, both static and mobile, and the Versicarte range of food servery units. However, the award looks at the ‘total package’ and Moffat’s pre- and after-sales support for school meals organisations made a big impression on the judges.

They commented: “It was clear that this submission demonstrates dedicated commitment to school catering.

“The supporting evidence was highly complementary in all areas of service delivery.”

Moffat was nominated for the award by Cardiff Council and supported by other Welsh regions.

Moffat sales director Gary Allen said he was absolutely delighted with the award and the judges’ comments.

He said: “Our work with schools is very much a team effort, not only with the people involved at Moffat, but also in terms of the close relationship we enjoy with many school meal organisations. I would especially like to thank all our customers in Wales for their support.”

The judges summarised Moffat’s award by saying: “This family-run firm understands its market and goes that extra mile to ensure complete customer satisfaction.”
