07 Jun 2019
The 57 schools that comprise the Ealing School Catering Committee (ESCC) in London are looking for contract caterers to bid to deliver its new ‘foodservice vision 2020’.

Current turnover is estimated at £6.7m and all but four of the schools in the consortium have their own on-site cooking facilities.

ESCC’s ‘foodservice vision 2020’ includes the introduction of a speedy payment and parent communication system, allergen and special diet delivery to ‘best industry standards’, together with an emphasis on local produce on menus and scratch cooking.

There is a July 5th deadline for requesting participation in the tender process, with a timetable of activity to follow that will see the formal award of the contract on April 1st 2020 and a start date of August 1st.

Catering companies wishing to express an interest in the contract can do so via the normal Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) portals.

The incumbent contractor is Harrison Catering Services and the tender is being managed by the London Borough of Ealing on behalf of ESCC.
