Educaterers serves 70,000 Christmas dinners to schoolchildren
Pupils at Barford St Peter’s Church of England Primary School are one of the schools enjoying a Christmas lunch this week. Educaterers serve around 120 meals to Barford school pupils every day throughout the school year.
Catering supervisor Lorraine, who has worked for the caterers since March 2011, is helping to keep the school Covid-secure by serving Christmas dinner to pupils in their ‘bubbles’.
On the menu this year is a traditional roast turkey or Quorn fillet served with vegetables, followed by a homemade chocolate Christmas cracknel bauble or ice cream.
Terry Tredget, director of Educaterers, said: “My gratitude goes to our dedicated school catering teams who have ended this strangest of years by getting into the festive spirit and offering the children at Barford St Peter’s C of E Primary School, and all our schools, a brilliant Christmas lunch.
“All our staff worked hard to continue providing a school meals service during the pandemic and it has been wonderful to see all children enjoying our meals since they returned to school in September.
“The school experience has been a bit different, but our staff have been doing everything they can to help pupils enjoy school again by providing them with a good lunch, including this year’s delicious Christmas dinner.
“I’d like to wish all our staff, schools, pupils and parents a very Happy Christmas and New Year.”
The Educatering catering teams have been dressing up wearing Christmas jumpers and Santa hats to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.
