Health and nutrition research – the next stage
PS100 hosted a seminar for members on April 12th at the Hilton Metropole in London at which plans were unveiled for the project to develop an evidence base linking nutrition with health.
In pursuit of the PS100’s key aims (* Protected Mealtimes * Lifetime Nutrition Plan * Appointment of a Foodservice ‘Tsar’) Cost Sector Catering magazine is launching a wide-ranging research project to compile the needed evidence base.
The aim is to pull together existing research linking good nutrition with health and the task of gathering together all the relevant data from a multitude of sources is already underway.
At this crucial stage we need the help of all PS100 members to ensure that the research is heading in the right direction and asking the right questions.
Please follow the link below to the storyboard and give us your comments and ideas. In particular we’re looking for PS100 members to use their sector-specific expertise to provide feedback.
The group now has a timetable for the production of the evidence base and its publication.
The plan is to have the draft ready by early June. At this point the chairs of the key industry organisations (LACA, TUCO, NACC, HCA, PACE) plus anyone else wishing to join will form a steering group that will review and assess the research before it is unveiled it to the wider PS100 group in mid-July.
Please send any feedback or expressions of interest in the steering group review process to David Foad, editor Cost Sector Catering: davidf@dewberryredpoint.co.uk
