Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall joins LACA Live line-up at Main Event

Writer, broadcaster and celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has joined the LACA Live line-up at the LACA School Food Show and Main Event taking place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on 8–9 July.

Fearnley-Whittingstall, best known for his award-winning River Cottage series and books, will share insights into his career, culinary inspirations, and strong advocacy for sustainable food and animal welfare.

As part of his session, he’ll deliver a live cooking demonstration with a unique 'schools twist' on one of his signature River Cottage recipes, inspiring caterers with fresh ideas for school meals.

His appearance is part of an action-packed LACA Live programme running alongside the LACA School Food Show, which is free to attend for school caterers, managers and contract caterers. The show will welcome over 160 exhibitors showcasing the latest in food, beverages, equipment and services for the school catering sector.

In addition to Fearnley-Whittingstall’s session at 12.45pm on 9th July, LACA Live will feature:

  • Partner demo – Quorn (12.15, 8th July)
  • Partner demo – Brakes, Savvy with store cupboard ingredients - Zoe Gill and Cathy Amos (1.15, 8th July)
  • LACA Grab 'N' Go Challenge winner demo, sponsored by SchoolGrid (12.00, 9th July)
  • Eva Humphries – Whole Food Warrior, exploring venison (1.45, 9th July)

Visitors will also enjoy access to the School Chef of the Year (SCOTY) national final, Finishing Touches Salon Culinaire, and three practical workshops, making this year’s event unmissable for anyone involved in school food.
