Independent Catering appoints director of operations
Oliveira will head its team of ‘passionate’ skilled chefs providing lunches to over 100 schools in Kent, Surrey and Sussex, cooking tens of thousands of meals a day. The company was started by Andrew Saunders and has been at the ‘forefront in providing fresh and fabulous food’ in schools since 1996.
Independent Catering has recently been awarded a further 12 new school catering contracts taking its turnover over £25m with 600 employees, with further growth forecast.
Oliveria has built a successful career in contract catering, working with companies in both the private and public sectors. Starting in the restaurant industry, including BBC Chef Tony Allan's Loco, he later transitioned into contract catering.
He has since held key roles in catering for the education sector, delivering high-quality, tailored services to both private and public sector and is ‘delighted’ to join Independent Catering and lead its skilled and experienced team.
