LACA to appear at Public Sector Catering Expo

24 Jan 2022
LACA, the school food people, announced they are supporting the Public Sector Catering Expo, which will take place on 15-16 March 2022.

LACA will be at the Association Zone along with the other key organisations representing the public sector catering industry. Discover more about the work they do across the education sector, hear about their initiatives in areas such as allergens, meat reduction, sustainability and the benefits of working together with them.

LACA will also be holding their Spring Seminar live at the Expo on the afternoon of Tuesday 15 March, it is free to attend and open to all visitors.

The Public Sector Catering Expo is returning following an 18-month break enforced by Covid lockdown, with a packed programme of speakers, live demos and events plus an exhibition and networking opportunities.

The Expo, which is free to attend, aims to bring together chefs and caterers from across all areas of the public sector – from schools to hospitals, universities, catering colleges, the social care sector, prisons through to the military.

The Expo events will address the areas of common concern that the public sector shares – working to tight budgets, nutritional regulation, recruitment and retention, training, and mental health and allergens – as well as tapping into key catering trends such as meat-free diets.

The keynote speakers include:

  • Chris Packham, Tuesday 15 March: The keynote address will look at the enormous damage to the planet, and life on it, that is being done by the way humans consume food and material goods.
  • Dr Rupy Aujla, Wednesday 16 March: Dr Rupy will be hosting ‘Public Sector Kitchen’ on the second day of the Expo, where he will chat with leading public sector chefs about their work and daily challenges while they demonstrate some dishes they prepare for their customers.

New for 2022 will see the Expo host Exercise Joint Caterer, the flagship event for Armed Forces chefs and catering teams. The Expo includes an exhibition which will feature more than 100 industry suppliers showcasing their food, drink, equipment and software solutions for public sector caterers.
