LACA Grab ‘N’ Go finalist spotlight: Terry Howard

27 Jun 2024
Terry Howard (Radish All Good) from Monega Primary School will be aiming to win the second ever edition of the Grab ‘N’ Go Challenge, which is sponsored by SchoolGrid.

The competition challenged school chefs to design, cook and serve a nutritious food item that can be eaten ‘on-the-go’ by youngsters. In the final Terry will make a South American arepa.

Three finalists have been invited to the LACA Main Event on Wednesday 3rd July 2024 to cook their Grab ‘N’ Go item in a competition environment to decide the winner. The overall winner will be announced at the LACA Informal Dinner on Wednesday 3rd July 2024.

Terry grew up on the island of Barbados in the Caribbean. As a young child he was inspired by his mother’s use of flavours, herbs and spices in the kitchen. Terry was then awarded a Scholarship from Barbados to attend the world famous Le Cordon Bleu Cooking school and graduated with a credit in Classical French Cuisine.

After working in some of England’s well establish private members clubs, hotels and contract catering companies Terry decided to spend more time with his young family and embark on a journey as chef in education. He was awarded Radish Chef of The Year 2018, which was judged by two Michelin stars chef Daniel Clifford.
