LACA highlights importance of exercise during fourth day of NSMW

14 Nov 2024
LACA’s fourth National School Meals Week theme is ‘move it for a better mind’ to encourage schoolchildren up and down the UK to exercise more regularly.

LACA believes that exercise is so important for mental wellbeing. The school meals organisation encouraged children to see how much they can move this week as well as how many portions of fruit and vegetables they can eat.

Chair of LACA Judith Gregory said: “Today I am heading to Chesford Grange in Kenilworth where I will be meeting LACA partners in advance of Fridays LACA Autumn Seminar.

“On the train back from Folkestone yesterday I took the time to look at LACA’s social media accounts and I was delighted to see so many pictures and updates of what you’ve all been up to. Please keep them coming. It really helps showcase the skills and the depth and breadth of the menus served within schools.

“As mentioned earlier in the week we know not everyone runs a theme day but for those who plan to pick up on today’s theme it is entitled ‘move it for a better mind’, which highlights the importance of food for physical activity. Good luck. Have a good day everyone and I will see you all tomorrow.”
