LACA launches Main Event App
The LACA Main Event, which is taking place from 5-7th July at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole, is the only national event dedicated to the school food sector. This year's Main Event takes place at time of unprecedented pressure on the school food sector with historic rates of food inflation and difficulty recruiting and retaining staff.
The LACA App is free to download from the Apple Store and Google Play. The App contains four main elements, including Agenda, Networking, Speakers and Exhibitors.
The Agenda enables attendees to plan their visit to the LACA Main Event as they can select what interests them the most and add it to their personal agenda. The Networking element enables attendees to search for other potential attendees to arrange meetings via the chat function.
The LACA App contains a full run-down of the speakers at the Main Event. By clicking on each individual speaker you can read some background information on them, learn more about their session and look at their schedule to see what sessions they will be involved in at the LACA Main Event.
For example vice chair of LACA Anita Brown will be involved in workshop 3, the Four Nations Debate, ParentPay Group and LACA’s School Meals Report as well as the chair’s handover and closing remarks.
The exhibitors tab enables attendees to look at the companies that will be attending the School Food Show, which is free-to-attend for School caterers, managers and contract caterers. If you click on each exhibitor you will get a short introduction and you will be able to view where their stand is on the map.
The App also features a scrolling bar of the show features such as LACA Live, the School Chef of the Year (SCOTY) competition, the inaugural Grab & Go competition, Finishing Touches, LACA workshops, LACA Awards for Excellence and the ‘If not now, when?’ theme. Attendees can click on these icons to find out more information.
