LACA Main Event opens doors to attendees & delegates
Over the course of the three days, it offers a packed conference speaker programme, free-to-attend workshops and the opportunity to watch the School Chef of the Year (SCOTY) finalists preparing their three dishes to decide this year’s winner.
There will also be the annual LACA Awards for Excellence, the skills-based Finishing Touches salon culinaire competition and, running throughout, the School Food Show where over 140 exhibitors will be showing off the latest products designed for the school food market.
Visitors will also be able to pick up their FREE copy of the brand-new LACA plant-based school food recipe book. Visit the LACA stand on P67 to collect yours. LACA have 1,000 printed copies to give away at the event- attending the event in person is the only way to get a hard copy for your kitchen.
Highlights of today’s conference programme include exemplar schools sharing their holistic approach to school food, exploring the role of technology for the school kitchen and Jason Bevan, former creative head at Warner Bros, will host a session on finding your inner creativity and building a great organisation.
Other sessions throughout the three-day event include:
- Tom Heap will host a keynote session titled ’39 ways to save the planet’ on Thursday 6 July 2022 at 9.45am. The session emerged from a determination to celebrate the successes in our fight against climate change. Following his keynote speech four panellists will discuss the school food sectors role in the UK’s journey towards net zero - what can realistically be achieved and by when?
- Nadim and Tanya Ednan-Laperouse OBE will return to this year’s event to update delegates on the impact of Natasha's Law to date and to discuss the next steps in creating a world that is safe for all allergy sufferers, everywhere.
- James Toop, chief executive of the charity Bite Back 2030 and members of their Youth Board will talk about their mission to help ensure that every young person has access to healthy and nutritious food, no matter where they live.
