LACA Main Event welcomes back Nadim and Tanya Ednan-Laperouse

30 Jun 2022
Following on from their deeply moving and impactful speech at the LACA Main Event 2021, Tanya and Nadim Ednan-Laperouse OBE will return to this year’s event to update delegates on the impact of Natasha's Law to date and to discuss the next steps in creating a world that is safe for all allergy sufferers, everywhere.

Nadim and Tanya tragically lost their daughter, Natasha, following an allergic reaction to eating sesame seeds baked into the dough of a baguette. Following her death, they set up the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation (NARF) with a clear vision to help and cure people with allergies.

The duo will talk to people about the work of NARF, funding and supporting pioneering allergy research and the role that the school food sector needs to play in safeguarding children with food allergies.

NARF aims to bring about positive change by focusing on medical research, law and policies to raise allergy awareness. NARF wants to ensure the needs of people living with allergies are met in a meaningful way and to offer a real hope that will change the lives of all those living with this life-threatening disease.

Tanya said: “We have been determined that Natasha’s death should not be in vain. Following the successful implementation of Natasha’s Law, which has brought new ingredient and allergen labelling, we are delighted to announce the first Natasha clinical trial and we would like to thank Elior UK and our other founding partners for their support.”

This session forms part of a packed delegate programme covering the issues and challenges facing education caterers.

The LACA Main Event takes place over three days on 6-8 July at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, as well as the delegate programme, the event includes live demonstrations, interactive workshops and a host of networking opportunities.

It runs alongside the largest national exhibition for the school food sector, with more than 140 exhibitors, it is the ideal place to find solutions to a wide range of requirements from food and beverage products which can help education caterers meet the nutrient guidelines, through to cashless payment and nutrition software solutions, furniture and dining room marketing.
