LACA reacts to food system review

27 Jun 2019
LACA has reacted to the news that there will be the first major review of the UK food system in nearly 75 years.

National chair, Michael Hales, said: “LACA welcomes the announcement of the new National Food Strategy which will review the food system in England to ensure that it is fit for the 21st century.

“We wholeheartedly endorse the strategy’s mission of delivering ‘safe, healthy, affordable food regardless of where people live or how much they earn.’ This is the reason why LACA have long campaigned for the expansion of Universal Infant Free School Meals so that every child, regardless of income, has access to a hot, healthy and nutritious school meal.

“We look forward to engaging on the strategy and responding to the call for evidence in the summer.”
