08 Mar 2022
SchoolGrid, who provide software for school catering, has appointed ex-LACA regional chair Lin O’Brien to their board as a non-executive director.

O’Brien brings strong leadership and governance experience to the company’s board, along with ‘a lifetime of experience’ in the education catering industry.

She said: “Yes, SchoolGrid are a tech firm, which is new to me. But as a company, they are genuinely passionate about school food. Their enthusiasm for the industry and customer focus stood out and I’m enjoying playing a major part in the company’s governance.”

O’Brien has the ability to ‘inspire’ the best in people by empowering them and creating an ethos of taking responsibility and pride in their work. She pioneered a two year Healthy Eating Programme to raise awareness of the benefits of good eating habits in primary schools.

Dugald Curtis, SchoolGrid’s chief executive, added: “Anyone who knows Lin will be familiar with her unrelenting push for improvement, and strong business sense. This has already been an incredible driving force for us as a company. In terms of my position as chief executive, Lin’s experience also makes her an excellent mentor.”
