Leicestershire Traded Services (LTS) Catering has won the Soil Association’s Gold Food Served Here catering mark, which is the highest accolade the Soil Association presents.

LTS Catering, part of Leicestershire County Council’s trading arm, serves more than 33,000 healthy school meals to more than 230 schools across the Midlands.

Byron Rhodes, deputy county council leader, said: “LTS Catering have had some fantastic achievements in the past year which include business beyond the county borders, trialing new menus, successful apprenticeships in Michelin restaurants and much more. But this recognition from the Soil Association is something the catering team have been striving to achieve, and now they have.

“This quality mark reflects and embodies the good food culture that we’re so passionate about and underlines the excellent work from our school kitchens where staff take pride in serving food for young people that’s healthy, nutritious and where possible, direct from local suppliers.”
