Minister for Children joins upcoming LACA webinar
During LACA's annual National School Meals Week (NSMW) Vicky Ford wrote to head teachers of schools and academies asking them to get involved. NSMW ran from 9-13 November and it encouraged caterers to get children to return to hot school meals.
LACA chair Stephen Forster will kick off the webinar by giving LACA members a monthly update, including news on LACA’s ‘Marching Back to School’ campaign. The new campaign has a similar objective to the Hot’ober campaign that aimed to get children eating hot school meals again.
Following the discussion with Vicky Ford, Forster will then introduce two great practice case studies from the school kitchen:
- 2019 LACA School Chef of the Year winner Steven Cross and his headteacher Chris Anders will talk about their outstanding work at Park Community School.
- Marcia Lewis from Caerphilly County Borough Council will be joined by Matt Lewis from distributors Castell Howell to talk about the council's work supporting the community, suppliers, and most importantly children.
LACA webinars are FREE to attend for all LACA members. The costs for non-members wishing to join the webinars are:
- School meal providers= £40 +VAT
- Suppliers= £75 +VAT
