MP for North Devon visits primary school
Saxby said: “I think it is very important children eat well. Food feeds the brain, as well as the body.
"Children are growing fast and need healthy balanced meals to ensure this happens and give them the best start in life.
"Their brains need fuel to work at their best and a good school lunch is a great way to achieve this.”
Some of the meals on the Marwood Primary School menu this week included organic meatballs in tomato sauce with pasta, a lentil roast, West Country sausages & mash, jambalaya (cajun spiced quorn, rice & vegetables) and for dessert banoffee pancakes.
Catering staff from Devon Norse and LACA vice-chair elect Brad Pearce also attended the event.
Norse Catering released six recipes to help school chefs replicate healthy meals to support the Veg Power #EatThemToDeafeatThem campaign.
