The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation (NARF) has been named as one of the charities that will benefit from this year’s Times and Sunday Times Christmas Appeal.

The annual fundraiser will provide a timely boost to the work of the foundation which is currently funding a £2.7 million study into the use of everyday foods to desensitise allergy sufferers. Early evidence shows children on the trial are tolerating milk and peanuts to which they were previously severely allergic.

In the new year, the charity is launching a new education programme, Allergy School, which will provide free resources to nurseries, primary schools and out-of-school clubs and groups.

The programme will be extended to secondary and higher education after the initial phase, with the aim of ensuring all children with food allergies are safe and able to participate fully in the classroom.

Rachel Hodson-Hubbard, the foundation’s director of corporate partnerships and fundraising, said: “I'm delighted to share with you that Natasha’s Foundation has been chosen as one of the three charities for The Times and Sunday Times Christmas Appeal 2024.

“This is a charity very close to us all as we understand how food allergies affect millions of people every day. Nadim and Tanya have shared with us the fantastic work Natasha's Foundation is doing to transform the lives of the millions of food allergic children, individuals and families- bringing them hope.

“Work that is only possible because of the support of thousands of individuals and companies.

“The Times and Sunday Times provides an amazing platform to share the debilitating and sometimes devastating impact of food allergies, and why food allergies need to be taken seriously by everyone.

“If you or your family and friends are able to donate to The Times and Sunday Times Christmas appeal you can do so here. Every pound donated to the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation will be trebled up to £100,000 by Morrisons and M&S who are each offering £100,000 match funding.
