New alliance to continue vision of School Food Plan

04 Apr 2016

A School Food Plan Alliance has been established to bring together leading school food organisations after the School Food Plan office shut its doors for the final time last week.

Myles Bremner, director of the School Food Plan, picked up a Special Contribution award at the Cost Sector Catering Awards 2016 on Thursday evening; his last day as head of the organisation.

Working together and independent of any government funding, the SFP Alliance will be the ongoing champions for the School Food Plan’s Vision and its 17 actions.

Co-chairs, Jeanette Orrey of Food for Life, and Linda Cregan of the Children’s Food Trust, said: “We are delighted to be co-chairing the new School Food Plan Alliance and to continue the positivity and consensus of The School Food Plan. We look forward to working with the whole alliance and sector to champion the School Food Plan vision.”

The Alliance includes organisations such as LACA, Magic Breakfast and the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation.
