Norfolk school chefs given restaurant opportunity as part of NSMW

08 Nov 2017
Chefs from Norse Catering, food provider to 250 schools across Norfolk, will join the kitchens of restaurants across the county as part of LACA National School Meals Week (NSMW) ‘Host a School Chef’ programme.

The Eastern Daily Press reports that the food served up by the school chefs at the pubs and restaurants involved will be available to order for the public, with chefs from Norse’s mobile chef team filling in for the school cooks while they’re away.

Daniel Smith, chef patron from The Ingham Swan, is opening up his doors to NSWM for a second year running after being “impressed with the enthusiasm for school meals” shown by his guest cook last year.

Shirley Peet, Norse brand manager, told the Eastern Daily Press: “Our school cooks are very talented chefs and can hold their own in top restaurants.”

NSMW, sponsored by Kraft Heinz, runs from 13 to 17 November and showcases the best of the UK’s school meals.
