Phat Pasty Co has become a member of the Food for Life Catering Mark Supplier Scheme and launched a school compliant sausage roll.

A Phat Pasty Co spokesperson, said: ‘We were amazed that there did not seem to be any suitable sausage roll on the market to meet the Catering Mark Accreditation, available to school caterers.

“Once we were asked about this we decided to develop a farm assured pork sausage roll which met these requirements – providing schools with a product at a smaller 6’’ size, within the 2017 salt guidelines.

“The product was trialled in schools in Suffolk in October 2015 and was a great success – it’s now being rolled out by Bidvest Foodservice to become available nationally to caterers.’’

Phat’s core range of pasties and sausage rolls are all made in Cornwall and feature British Red Tractor and Farm Assured meats.
