Plymouth’s CATERed wins local training award
Plymouth’s education catering service CATERed has won an award at City College Plymouth’s Annual Business Dinner and Celebration Evening.
The event recognises the investment employers have made in their workforce through training, and the continued partnership between the College and local business.
The CATERed training programme supported over 80 individuals, 52 kitchen managers (78% of the kitchen managers) and 29 catering assistants (14% of the staff group).
A further enrolment is planned for September where the rest of CATERed kitchen managers will be signed up onto the NVQ.
Managing director of CATERed, Brad Pearce, said: “We’re delighted and proud to have won this award tonight, we pride ourselves with having a forward thinking approach to everything we do.
“We know our front line staff are one of our best assets and we want to ensure that they are the best that they can be.
“These skills that they are now learning will benefit not only themselves but also the business, schools and improve our service to our customers whilst also giving staff confidence to help schools with aspects of the curriculum.
“The feedback from the college and our staff is that they are really enjoying the learning.”
