Schoolchildren open 2019 World Marmalade Awards
Marking the 14th annual awards, Stainton School has long been an ‘integral part’ of the festival (which takes place in Cumbria) by opening the ceremony singing each year.
Designed to recognise ‘quality’ homemade marmalade and continue the tradition of preserving, growing and widening ‘one of the most British of customs’ – making marmalade, organisers are accepting entries for this year’s contest until 8 February.
The competition is divided into three categories: Homemade Marmalade Awards; Artisan Marmalade Awards and the Hotel, Restaurant and B&B Awards, which celebrate establishments that make and serve the best marmalade.
The 2019 Marmalade Festival takes place 16-17 March at Dalemain (Cumbria). More information is available here: http://www.dalemain.com/marmalade-awards/.
