SchoolGrid sponsors LACA’s Grab ‘N’ Go Challenge
Eating on the move is now a major part of the school food service and only likely to grow as it reflects the high street trends that pupils prefer. The final will be held live at the LACA Main Event on 3rd July with the winner being announced that evening.
This year’s sponsors are SchoolGrid who will bring their passion for school food to the competition and they will be nutritionally analysing all entries using their systems to ensure that all entries are up to the school food standards.
Dugald Curtis, chief executive of SchoolGrid, said: “SchoolGrid are both proud and excited to announce our sponsorship of the LACA Grab ‘N’ Go Challenge 2024.
“This is a great opportunity for school chefs to showcase their skills and creativity and bring their culinary ideas to life. SchoolGrid is a proactive supporter of providing good school food for young people and looks forward to working with LACA on this innovative industry competition.”
Jody Iske from Queen Ethelburga's Collegiate in York was named as the winner of LACA’s inaugural Grab ‘N’ Go Challenge following a cook-off at the Main Event in July 2023.
LACA chair Anita Brown commented: “Grab and Go is a fundamental part of the school food service, particularly in secondary schools and academies, so we are delighted that the challenge is returning for a second year.
“We’d like to thank SchoolGrid for their support of the challenge; the ideas developed by the incredible school chefs who compete are an inspiration and help us all to develop this vital aspect of the service.”
