Tilda launches new campaign to unite caterers, pupils and parents

21 Sep 2015

Tilda is launching a brand new campaign offering school caterers, pupils and parents the opportunity to come together for a fun day of cooking and activities while learning about the importance of healthy eating.

The initiative will see one primary and one secondary school win their very own Tilda Together day, which will be hosted at their school.

Tilda will supply everything needed to kick-start the experience including a host of fun team games and activities as well as a parent and pupil 'cook together' workshop, providing an opportunity to get hands-on and try out simple recipes.

The event will end with a lunch and Q&A session with a nutritionist, enabling parents, pupils, and school caterers to ask questions and pick up some last minute tips.

Mark Lyddy, Tilda's head of foodservice, said: “We launched Tilda Together because rather than just give product away, we wanted to embrace the heart of the school and develop something that would really help LEAs and school caterers understand the needs of both pupils and their parents and, in turn, deliver nutritious, great tasting meals day after day.

“Through the 'cook together' workshop and with the help of our dedicated nutritionist, Dr. Sarah Schenker, we hope to showcase how using Tilda's Brown 'n' White Rice can play a pivotal role in achieving this and how creating healthy dishes that kids will love can be easy with the right ingredients.

“At the same time, by involving everyone in the experience – parents too – we are completing that circle and providing ideas to promote good eating habits not only at school but also at home.

“Tilda Together will even assist teachers in meeting sections of the curriculum on healthy eating as we all know learning is enjoyed most when it is delivered in a fun and informative way. With so many benefits to be had, what are you waiting for? Enter Tilda Together today!”

The competition is part of Tilda's commitment to work together with LEAs and school caterers in bringing healthy, balanced recipes that are easy to prepare to the dining hall.
