Yorkshire & Humberside spring/summer conference hails region’s successes
The Yorkshire & Humberside region celebrated success at its recent spring/summer conference, which featured LACA chair Peter McGrath.
The event was opened by regional chair Jo Webster, who talked of successes in the past year in delivering great school lunches. This included the success of the "School Food Plan, UIFSM and NSMW 2015 including the focus for 2016.”
2016 SCOTY and "our Yorkshire girl" Kath Breckon was also given recognition along with her colleague from North Yorkshire School caterers.
The event, named ‘Winning Teams’ was held at the Aesseal New York Stadium in Rotherham and included speakers such as Suzanne Shaw, a specialist in leader and management from The Colour Works.
Shaw said: "It was a real privilege being asked to speak at the LACA conference. There were some great speakers and interested delegates which made a great arena fo personal and professional development"
Juliette Yardley a behavioural change specialist held all delegates in the palm of her hand with theoretical and practical sessions on "Resilience and Positivity".
Yardley said: "What a wonderful day, great to meet such positive, passionate people with a shared common goal. The content lending itself so very well to bringing the best out in everyone who was there"
LACA chair, Peter McGrath said of the event: “The speakers provided an excellent well rounded view into solutions for improving outcomes for the team and the individual.
“The subject matter ranging from self-improvement and mindfulness from Suzanne Shaw which complimented an excellent interactive and engaging presentation from Juliette Yardley an outstanding insight into behavioural change and how our environment and what we do, our triggers, can affect us and those around us.”
The event, which was sponsored by suppliers Calypso and HIT Training, also raised £106 for the NSPCC.
Dave Roberts from Calypso, said: "I thought the day was great, with a real diverse mix of speakers, that meant the event was enjoyable and yet educational. A real worthwhile event."
