FoodOp was founded in 2020 with a vision to reduce food waste in commercial kitchens. It quickly turned out that food waste was a symptom of an analogue eco-system with great potential to improve the environmental footprint, productivity, and the quality of food servings. We are transforming how professional kitchens operate and have grown to support more than 400 kitchens across five countries, helping chefs cut costs, save time, and lead on sustainability.

We provide four solutions, one of them being our food waste management system. Our fully-automated food waste management solution enables kitchens to report on food waste without adding any extra procedures. We simply place our IoT scales under your existing organic bins from where they automatically measure and report food waste. The scales collect data, which is made available in the cloud along with expert insights and benchmarks.

The impact is measurable. Kitchens using FoodOp have reduced food waste by up to 40%, saved 2–6% on annual food costs, and improved their sustainability reporting in line with growing regulations and client expectations.
