Development Chef

HC3S is the in house caterer for Hampshire County Council and we are looking for an innovative, proactive and enthusiastic chef to work alongside our Food Development Manager.

HC3S has over 500 clients, both schools and commercial sites, and provides more than 12 million meals a year within Hampshire, and neighbouring counties. 

Your role is to highlight latest food trends, new ideas and new products, and propose ways of introducing these into the menus for our varied client portfolio, to keep our customers interested and engaged. 

You will lead on standards of presentation, creation and trial of new recipes, and will work with colleagues across the business to develop menus and improve services.  You will be expected to help with coaching catering teams, and to participate at various events by demonstrating your top class chef skills.

The position is based in Eastleigh, Hampshire, but you will be required to visit various sites across Hampshire and into neighbouring counties.

We are looking for:

  • 3 years experience of working in the commercial catering industry
  • Top class chef skills, including function catering
  • Experience of training and coaching catering staff in skills and standards
  • Experience of providing cooking demonstrations to large and varied audiences
  • Budget control and financial awareness
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Full driving licence with daily access to a car

And in return offer:

A salary of £24,588 to £27,672 (52 week contract) depending on experience, combined with pension, 24 days holiday, uniform.
