A new advertising campaign encouraging school children to eat more vegetables will be launched in the new year by The Food Foundation.

The food industry think tank plans for its #VegPower campaign, which will launch in January 2018 and feature on the BBC, to be projected on iconic buildings and promoted in schools.

Britain’s largest food bank network The Trussell Trust has appointed Emma Revie its new chief executive ahead of what the charity predicted will be its busiest Christmas ever.

Alliance in Partnership (Aip), a specialist catering provider for schools in the UK, has won the contract to supply meals at 15 schools in South Croydon, London.

A number of catering assistants, supervisors and cooks from Warwickshire-based school meals provider Educaterers have reached their Level 2 NVQs in food production and cooking after two years of training.

Ysgol Dinas Bran Secondary Cchool in Denbighshire, Wales, has been crowned the winner of this year’s #cookeditmyselfie competition, one of a number of activities held during LACA National School Meals Week (13-17 November).

The online competition encouraged school caterers to send in pictures via Twitter of the food they prepare and serve daily.
