Apetito mobilisation ensures thousands of pupils enjoy school meals

23 Oct 2024
Apetito is continuing to ‘revolutionise’ school catering and has successfully mobilised over 30 schools in 30 days ensuring thousands of pupils are now able to enjoy delicious meals at school.

Last month Apetito’s education team travelled across the country to help ‘transform’ catering operations by getting them up and running with its meals service.

They were on hand to teach and train school staff on how order, cook and prepare its high-quality meals and make the transition over to Apetito’s pre-prepared meals service seamless.

Apetito, which launched its school meals service in 2020, now serves meals to over 25,000 pupils a day. As costs continue to rise, Apetito says schools are turning to the pre-prepared meals service which offers quality meals with typical savings of 20% and reduced labour requirements.

Every Apetito dish has been made by its team of chefs, dietitians and nutritionists, including Jethro Lawrence who has recently made it to the final of this year’s National Chef of the Year competition, run by the Craft Guild of Chefs.

Rupert Weber, head of education at Apetito, said: “We are committed to revolutionising school catering, and we offer best-in-class value for money. The team and I know how important it is that pupils have a delicious, nutritious meals at school, which gives them the fuel they need to focus on learning throughout the school day.

“Over the last few years, we have been working hard to grow our School’s Division and it has been great to travel across the UK to get our meals service up and running in so many schools. I’m particularly proud that thanks to our team’s hard work and dedication, we’re able provide high-quality, nutritious delicious meals to thousands more pupils. We’re excited to be able to introduce pupils to new flavour and cuisines, whilst reducing costs and simplifying catering operations for schools.”
