Regional Operations Manager - North

This new role will manage a number of Area Managers and have accountability for a growing portfolio of multi-client, multi-site contracts (primary schools) throughout the North of England (currently c.100), and will be required to ensure that Dolce consistently delivers to the highest standards in its catering service to all its clients.

Based in the region, but within commutable distance to either the Wetherby (West Yorkshire) or Warrington (North West) offices, the role includes significant travel North West from Carlisle to Stoke-on-Trent and North from Hexham to Rotherham.

The role is a full-time position working 40 hours per week over 43 weeks per annum (38 weeks school term-time plus an additional 5 weeks).

Key responsibilities include

  • Manage a number of Area Managers and a growing client base in a methodical and planned way.
  • Inspire and support the Area Managers to deliver a first class service and develop employee satisfaction levels.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of staff and management within the region, set objectives and provide coaching and support to deliver results.
  • Identify and proactively support the development of talented individuals to support area and regional succession plans.
  • Ensure that all financial targets are achieved, a high quality operations is maintained, and client satisfaction constantly exceeds expectations.

Candidate specification

  • Experience in school catering (preferably primary schools) is essential.
  • Proven and demonstrable people management skills at middle or senior level.
  • Background in a fast-paced, multi-site, multi-client catering or food management.
  • Strong financial acumen, together with responsibility for a full P&L and experience of managing budgets and delivering operational goals.
  • Effective management of own workload and of managing a number of projects at one time to set and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced communication skills with a wide range or people and audiences.
  • Knowledgeable in your field so that you can lead standards across a multi-site catering business that isn't a "brand".  You need to be someone who notices the detail and can lead others to manage it.
  • Must be able to provide evidence of successfully leading and managing a catering operation at multi-site level with considerable budget responsibility including the ability to analyse financial results.
  • You must be a Company ambassador, providing leadership for the Company's principles and values and giving clients, colleagues and team members confidence in their knowledge and abilities.
