As we moved in to March things seem to ‘hot up’ a bit, it’s like the industry has to take a break in the first couple of months of each year to ‘take stock’ and do some planning.
Because there was so much on I’ll run through it quite quickly:
2nd March – the expert planning meeting for the School Food Plan is held in London. We review progress to date and look at the areas we continue to work on and develop
3rd/4th March – A quick nip across the Midlands to attend the British Frozen Food Federation Conference. Another great line up of speakers and suppliers to promote LACA objectives too.
5th March – Back to London, where I was delighted to be asked to help judge the Cost Sector Catering Awards along with other association heads and some leading industry operators.
11th/19th/20th March – Off around the country to meet LACA members in their regions. Firstly it is to the Nestlé Professional offices at Gatwick for the London and South East regions, then my own West Midlands members and then finally up to the North East. This is always a really rewarding thing to do and we get incredibly useful feedback on what we do and where we could do more/better work as an organisation. Do make sure you attend these meetings, they are at the soul of LACA and what we represent.
31st March – Down to London once again to meet with the Workforce Development group, the outline work is now done and shortly information will be distributed for the consultation period, let us have your thoughts, feedback is really important if we are going to ensure that this work is to the highest possible standard.
So March is over, but looking at my diary April is going to be just as hectic, in fact, looks like between now and the Main Event in July there will be no rest for the wicked....
