Host a School Chef is firmly established as one of the most popular events in the school catering calendar. The promotion offers school chefs the opportunity to spend a day in the kitchen of some of the most exclusive restaurants in the country, working alongside some of the most celebrated chefs in the catering industry, demonstrating the breadth and depth of talent of today’s education caterers.
Professional Standards/Learning and Development
The School Workforce Professional Standards clearly define the professional requirements that underpin the delivery of quality school food and the knowledge, skills and behaviours that an individual needs to achieve the best standard of performance in their job role.
LACA Ltd., through Highfield Qualifications, offer and a suite of learning packages, each learner will receive a certificate on successful completion.

Manual Handling - Level 1, Allergen Awareness - Level 1
Fire Safety - Level 2, Customer Service - Level 2

How to join
Types of Membership
This full membership category gives full voting rights and enables you to attend local branch meetings and obtain concessionary rates at the annual conference. Details of LACA events can either be sent to your business or home address.
This grade of membership is for people or businesses working with or supplying to local authority caterers. It would suit consultants to the sector, food and equipment suppliers and anyone else with an interest in this market place. It entitles you to all the benefits of individual membership except that you are unable to vote at meetings.
This is available to managers of any local authority catering organisation to enable them to involve their whole management team in the activities of LACA. The package is for five named members. All correspondence is sent to the Corporate Head Office.
LACA values the experience of its long term members and welcomes their continued involvement beyond retirement.
