The LACA West Midlands Regional Meeting on will take place on Thursday 12 October 2023, 1.00pm to 3.45pm during Black History Month. In addition to four speakers this Meeting includes food tasting and networking.

Dudley Coroner's Court, St James's Road, Dudley. West Midlands. DY1 1HP which is a Grade11* listed building and Brooke's Bar and Bistro. Town Centre 'Pay and Display' parking.
Programme
- 1.00pm Lunch of Grab & Go tasters by Suppliers Quorn Foodservice, McCain Foods and Pasta King. Also tasters of Caribbean foods provided by Lavern Mthethwa, Lola's Caribbean Kitchen, Telford. Networking.
- 1.45pm The history of Dudley Coroner's Court - Councillor David Stanley - Former Mayor of Dudley.
- 2.15pm Celebration of Caribbean cultural and food heritage during Black History Month - Rob Wilson, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Officer, Telford & Wrekin Council and Lavern Mthethwa, Lola's Caribbean Kitchen, Telford.
- 2.45pm 'Determination to succeed by not giving up' - Raheem Morgan, LACA’s School Chef of the Year (SCOTY) 2023 representing the London Region and Chartwells and Unit Manager and Head Chef at Torridon Primary School, Lewisham.
Raheem won the Competition after a cook-off at the recent Main Event, his 4th attempt. He was runner up in 2021 and 2022 and winner of the Grab & Go Dish 2022. His love of food started when he was around nine years-old, cooking Jamaican food with his Mum, before following it through school in food tech and into hotels. Prior to school catering, Raheem worked with Tom Aikens, and held positions of Commis, Demi and Chef De Partie at Hotel Café Royale, Park Plaza Hotel and The Ivy in Sloane Square.
Raheem will also showcase his winning dishes. - 3.15pm Tea and Cakes. Networking.
